The next level in the military pay scale is called the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost step is known as“Colonel” ” Colonel”. At Colonel rank, you are a general and have the responsibility for all of the military and the whole staff. In this position you also get the highest pay per day. As you progress, you can expect to receive an increased number of days of paid time off per calendar month.

Pay increases at this level are based on the military index of cost of employment. This allows you to accommodate for the increase of living expenses. If a location has an index that is high, then the cost of living will be expected to be more expensive than when the cost index is low. This will result in an increase of the salaries of military personnel who are highly educated . They have were promoted and received pay increments that are similar to those in lower pay levels. Promotions in the lower ranks of their pay are not given a raise.

Officers with an enlisted and commissioned rank get an upgrade to Warrant Officer. The pay they receive when they reach this level is determined by their actual commission rating, which is usually above the actual star. Higher ranks of command such as Colonel both enlisted and commissioned officers can receive advancement to the rank of Colonel. When they are upgraded to Colonel, all commissioned officers can apply for general promotions. Thus, those who have had a previous promotion to General will be qualified for promotion to Vice Captain or Major.

The pay increases for Specialties increase in every couple of years. It is necessary to be among the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to gain promotion to an advanced pay grade. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. People who have any of these specialty pay grades could apply to be a surgeon technician or Medical Assistant, after they’ve completed the required number to years working and reached the appropriate promotion level.
