The next rung on the military pay scale is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this ladder is“Colonel” ” Colonel”. When you attain the rank of Colonel, it means that you will rank as a General and be responsible for all military personnel and the whole staff. As a Colonel you’ll also be able to receive the highest amount of pay per day. At higher levels, you will also receive an increased number of of paid holidays per year.

Pay increments at this level are dependent on the cost of living index. This is a way to take into account the rise of living costs. If a location has an index of high value, the cost of living is likely to be greater than when the cost index falls. This will result in an increase of the compensation of military members who are highly educated and received similar promotions and raises similar to those of lower paygrades. Those who are promoted in jobs that are not in their pay grade have no pay increase.

Officers who have both commissioned and enlisted rank receive an increase to the rank of Warrant Officer. The pay they receive in this grade is based on their actual commission score, which is usually above the grade of their current star. Higher levels of command that include Colonels, both enlisted and commissioned officers are eligible for the rank of Colonel. After a promotion to Colonel, all commissioned officers are eligible for general promotion. Thus, those who have prior to that been upgraded to a General are eligible for a promotion to a Vice Captain or Major.

Also, the increments in pay for Specialties rise approximately every two years. You need to be in the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to get promoted to an Advanced pay grade. The pay grades are Technician, Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. The people who have any of these pay grades are eligible to apply for the position of Surgical Technician, or a Medical Assistant, after they’ve completed the required number of years of service and have reached the minimum level for promotion.
