The next level in the pay scale for military personnel is the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost ladder is the ” Colonel”. As a Colonel, are a general and have the responsibility for the entire military as well as the entire staff. At this rank you’ll also be able to receive the most pay per day. As you progress, you are entitled to an increased number of days of paid annual vacation.

Pay increases at this rate are determined by the military index of cost of employment. This is a way to reflect the increasing of the cost of living. In areas with one with a high cost index, the cost of living is expected to be significantly higher than when the index is low. This causes an increase in the pay for military members with a higher education level and had similar promotions and increases that are comparable to those in lower pay grades. People who are promoted to lower pay grades have no pay increase.

Officers who hold both a commissioning and enlisted receive a promotion to a Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid as a Warrant Officer is based on the commission they receive, which is usually above that of their real star. When they reach higher levels of the command that include Colonels, both commissioned, and enlisted officers are eligible for being promoted to Colonel. After an upgrade to Colonel, all officers commissioned will be eligible for general promotion. Therefore, those who have already been elevated to a General will be qualified to be promoted to a Vice Captain or Major.

Also, the increments in pay for Specialties are increased at least every 2 years. You must be in the top 20 percent of your class to get promoted to the Specialized pay grade. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. Individuals who hold any of these pay grade specializations could apply to be a surgical technician, or Medical Assistant once they’ve completed the required number hours of work experience and completed the required level of promotion.
