The next step in the pay scale of the military is the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this rank is“Colonel” ” Colonel”. When you attain the rank of Colonel, it means that you will be considered a General and have the responsibility for all military personnel and the whole staff. In this position it is also possible to earn the highest amount of pay per day. Higher levels will also receive an increased number of of paid annual vacation.

Pay increments at this level are determined by the military index of cost of employment. This allows you to reflect the increasing of costs of living. When a region has a high index, the cost of living is expected to be more expensive than when the index falls. This will result in an increase of the pay for military members who are educated and have enjoyed similar promotions as well as pay increases similar to those at lower pay grades. Promotions in the lower ranks of their pay receive no additional pay.

Officers that are both in the enlisted and commissioned ranks receive the opportunity to be promoted to Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid for this position is based on their actual commission rating which is usually higher than the actual star. In higher ranks of command, such as Colonel, both commissioned, and enlisted officers can be eligible for a promotion to a Colonel. Once they have been upgraded to Colonel, all commissioned officers are eligible for general promotion. Thus, those who have prior to that been upgraded to General are eligible for a promotion to Vice Captain or Major.

Also, the increments in pay for Specialties rise every two years. You need to be in the top twenty percent of your enlistment class in order to earn an Advanced pay grade. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. People who have any of these specialty paygrades are eligible to apply for the position of surgical technician or Medical Assistant once they’ve completed the necessary number that have served in the past and achieved the level of promotion required.
