The next level up in the pay scale of the military is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this rung is known as“Colonel” ” Colonel”. As a Colonel, are a general and will have responsibility for your entire army and entire staff. At this rank you’ll also be able to receive the most salary per day. At higher levels, will also receive the most number of of paid time off per calendar month.

Pay increase at this level are determined by the military employment cost index. This is a method to accommodate for the increase in living expenses. When an area has one with a high cost index, the cost of living is likely to be much higher than when the cost index falls. This results in an increase in the amount of pay paid to military personnel with a higher education level and experienced similar promotions and pay rises as those who are in lower pay grades. People who are promoted to areas below their paygrade have no pay increase.

Officers who are commissioned and enlisted rank receive a promotion to a Warrant Officer. The pay they receive as a Warrant Officer is based on their actual commission score, which is usually above the level of their actual star. At higher levels of leadership like Colonel, both enlisted and commissioned officers are eligible for advancement to the rank of Colonel. Following an upgrade to Colonel, all commissioned officers will be eligible for general promotion. Therefore, those who have before been promoted as a General are capable of being promoted to Vice Captain or a Major.

Finally, the increases in pay for Specialties go up  every two years. You have to be in the top twenty percent of your class to qualify for an specialized pay grade. These pay grades include Technician, Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist as well as Information Technology Specialist. The people who have any of these specialty pay grades can apply to become surgeon technician or Medical Assistant after they’ve reached the minimum number hours of work experience and reached the minimum level for promotion.
