Army Housing Allowance Pay Chart – The U.S. Military PayScale is the basic salary scale used by all members of the armed forces. U.S. military pay scales are used as a major measurement tool to determine personnel compensation. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps are the branches which use the pay scales used by the military. Each of these branches has specific requirements that determine their pay scale. These include bonuses and compensation for seniority.
An index of cost of employment establishes this U.S. military pay scale known as the Allowable Rate. The index is found by analyzing the need for enlisted personnel or permanent employees, as well as temporary military retirees per 100 active-duty personnel. After analyzing these elements and adjusting the rate to give a rate that considers the strength requirements for each group in order to guarantee a sufficient workforce. This method is employed to define a minimum military pay that is then used in each branch.
The U.S army has its ranking system in place. Its ranks are formulated at the level of the First Lieutenant and up and include officers like sergeants, lieutenants or Colonels and majors. In the army, there are three levels ranked from highest to lowest to the top of the line of command. They are known as “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.
The other pay scale employed by the army is First Major First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant and further on. These pay scales rank people in various areas of work in the various branches that comprise the Army. For example, individuals with lower rank in their respective divisions of the Marine Corps will be considered officers placed in reserve or Officers Regular. On the other hand, those with higher ranks are classified as Specialists or Officers Special. In addition, those employed in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits and those who are in the Navy will be considered Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.
The next stage in the military pay scale is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this rung is known as“Colonel” ” Colonel”. As a Colonel, will be considered a General and have the responsibility for the entire military and the entire staff. At this level you also get the most salary per day. As you progress, you can expect to receive the most number of of paid time off per calendar month.
Pay increments at this level are based on the military employment cost index. This is an attempt to account for the rising of living expenses. When an area has one with a high cost index, the cost of living is expected to be much higher than when the cost index falls. This is a reason for an increase the amount of pay paid to military personnel who are highly educated and had similar promotions and rises as those who are in lower pay levels. The ones who are promoted in positions below their pay grade receive no increment.
Officers who are engaged and commissioned receive the opportunity to be promoted to Warrant Officer. The pay they receive as a Warrant Officer is determined by the actual rating of their commission and is typically above the level of their actual star. At higher levels of leadership like Colonel both commissioned, and enlisted officers can be eligible for the rank of Colonel. Following an upgrade to Colonel, all officers commissioned are eligible for general promotions. Thus, those who have already been elevated to General are eligible for a promotion to a Vice Captain or a Major.
Finally, the increases in pay for Specialties increases twice a year. You must be in the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to gain promotion to the pay grade of Specialized. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. Those with any of these pay grade specializations may apply to become a Surgical Technician, or a Medical Assistant, once they’ve reached the required number hours of work experience and have reached the required promotion level.
