The next step up the military pay scale is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this scale is the ” Colonel”. At Colonel rank, you will be considered a General and will be in charge of all military personnel and the whole staff. In this position, you will also receive the highest pay per day. At higher levels, will also receive an increased number of of paid vacation per month.

Pay increases at this point are dependent on the cost of employment. This allows you to accommodate for the increase in living expenses. When an area has an index that is high, then the cost of living will be expected to be higher than when the index is lower. This is a reason for an increase the compensation of military members who have high educational qualifications and received similar promotions and increases similar to those at lower pay grades. The ones who are promoted in areas below their paygrade are not given a raise.

Officers who have both in the enlisted and commissioned ranks receive promotions to Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid when they reach this level is determined by their actual commission ratings which is usually higher than the grade of their current star. At higher levels of leadership like Colonel both commissioned, and enlisted officers are entitled to promotions to Colonel. After a promotion to Colonel, all commissioned officers will qualify for general promotion. Thus, those who have before been promoted as General are qualified for promotion to Vice Captain or a Major.

In addition, the salaries for Specialties rise  every two years. You need to be in the top twenty percent of your class to get promoted to an Advanced pay grade. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. Individuals who hold any of these specialty paygrades may apply to become a surgeon technician or Medical Assistant once they’ve reached the minimum number hours of work experience and have attained the necessary promotion level.
