Additionally, those who are in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits, while those who are in the Navy are classified as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.
The next level up in the military pay scale is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this rank is“Colonel” ” Colonel”. If you are a Colonel, you will rank as a General and be responsible for all military personnel and the entire staff. At this rank you’ll also earn the most salary per day. In higher ranks, you can expect to receive a number of days of paid holidays per year.
Pay increases at this rate are determined by the military cost of employment. This is a method to reflect the increasing of living costs. In areas with one with a high cost index, the cost of living is predicted to be much higher than when the index is lower. This results in an increase in the salary of military personnel who are highly educated and received similar promotions and raises similar to those of lower pay grades. Promotions in lower pay grades are not given a raise.
Officers who have both in the enlisted and commissioned ranks receive the opportunity to be promoted to Warrant Officer. The pay they receive for this position is determined by their actual commission ratings that is typically higher than the actual star. At higher levels of command that include Colonels, both enlisted and commissioned officers are eligible for advancement to the rank of Colonel. After an upgrade to a Colonel, all officers who are commissioned can apply for general promotions. Therefore, those who have already been elevated to General are eligible for a promotion to a Vice Captain or Major.
In addition, the salaries for Specialties are increased twice a year. It is necessary to be among the top 20 percent of your class to gain promotion to an advanced pay grade. These pay grades include Technician, Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. Those with any of these specialty paygrades can apply to become Surgical Technician, or a Medical Assistant when they’ve reached the minimum number to years working and achieved the level of promotion required.
