Pay increases at this point are calculated based on the army cost of living index. This is a way to reflect the increasing of costs of living. This can result in an increase in the pay for military members who have high educational qualifications and had similar promotions and raises like those in lower paygrades. The ones who are promoted in positions below their pay grade have no pay increase.
Officers that are both commissioning and enlisted receive an upgrade to Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid for this position is determined by their actual commission rating which is usually greater than that of their real star. When they reach higher levels of the command that include Colonels, both enlisted and commissioned officers will be entitled to a promotion to a Colonel. When they are upgraded to Colonel, all officers commissioned can be promoted to general. This means that those who’ve previously been promoted to General are eligible for promotions to a Vice Captain or Major.
The pay increases for Specialties will increase at least every 2 years. You need to be in the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to be promoted to the Specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. If you have one of these pay grades can apply to become surgeon technician or Medical Assistant, after they have reached the required number to years working and reached the appropriate promotion level.
