The next step up the military pay scale is the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this rank is“Colonel” ” Colonel”. If you are a Colonel, you will rank as a General and have the responsibility for the entire military and the whole staff. As a Colonel you’ll also receive the most amounts of money per day. Higher levels will receive the most number of days of paid leave per month.
Pay increase at this level are dependent on the cost of living index. This allows you to accommodate for the increase in living expenses. When an area is characterized by a high index, the costs of living are expected to be much more than when the cost index falls. This can result in an increase in the amount of pay paid to military personnel who are highly educated . They have experienced similar promotions and pay raises like those in lower paygrades. People who are promoted to posts below their pay grade receive no increment.
Officers who are both commissioning and enlisted receive the opportunity to be promoted to Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid as a Warrant Officer is based on their actual commission score and is typically above the rank of their actual star. When they reach higher levels of the command like Colonel, both enlisted and commissioned officers can receive a promotion to a Colonel. Following an upgrade to Colonel, all officers commissioned are eligible for general promotion. That means, those who’ve previously been promoted to a General will be eligible for a promotion to a Vice Captain or Major.
Lastly, the pay increases for Specialties go up in every couple of years. You must be in the top twenty percent of your enlistment class to be promoted to the Specialized pay grade. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist, as well as Information Technology Specialist.
