U.S. military pay scales are used as a major measurement tool for determining personnel pay. Army, Navy, Air Force as well as Marine Corps are the branches that utilize the military pay scale. Each of these branches have specific requirements that determine their pay grade. This includes bonuses as well as special payment considerations for seniors.

An index of cost of employment establishes the U.S. military pay scale known as The Allowable Rate. The index is found through examining the amount of enlisted members, permanent personnel, and temporary military retirees for 100 active-duty soldiers. When considering these aspects, the rate is adjusted so that it assumes the strength requirements of each group to ensure a sufficient workforce. This method is employed to determine a basic military salary that is used by every branch.

The U.S army has a ranking established system. Its ranks are set at the level of the First Lieutenant and up and comprise officers such as sergeants, lieutenants or Colonels and majors. In the army, three levels are classified from the highest to the lowest to the top of the line of command. They are called the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The other pay scale employed in the army is called the First Major First Lieutenant, First Lieutenant and the list goes on. The pay scale ranks individuals across different areas of service within the various wings in the military. For example, those who are lower-ranked in The Marine Corps will be considered officers placed in reserve or Officers Regular. In contrast, upper-ranked individuals will be classified as Specialists or Officers Special. In addition, individuals in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits, and those who are in the Navy will be designated as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next step up the pay scale of the military is called the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost ladder is the ” Colonel”. At Colonel rank, you will be promoted to General and will oversee the entire military and whole staff. At this level you’ll also be able to receive the most salary per day. As you progress, you will be able to enjoy an increased number of days of paid holiday per month.

Pay rises at this point are dependent on the military’s cost of employment. This allows you to adjust for the inflation in living expenses. When an area is characterized by an index that is high, the cost of living will be expected to be much more than when the Index is not high. This causes an increase in the pay for military members with a higher education level and received similar promotions and raises like those in lower paygrades. For those who have promotions in the lower ranks of their pay receive no increment.

Officers that are both employed and enlisted are given a promotion to a Warrant Officer. The pay they receive with this title is determined by their commission rating, which is usually above the grade of their current star. At higher levels of command including Colonel, both commissioned and enlisted officers are eligible for advancement to the rank of Colonel. After an upgrade to a Colonel, all officers commissioned are eligible for general promotion. For example, those who’ve had a previous promotion to General will be qualified for promotion to Vice Captain or Major.

In addition, the salaries for Specialties increase approximately every two years. You need to be in the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to get promoted to the Specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist, as well as Information Technology Specialist. People who have any of these pay grade specializations can apply to become surgeon technician or Medical Assistant, after they’ve reached the minimum number to years working and have completed the required level of promotion.
