The next level up in the pay scale of the military is the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this level is called“Colonel” ” Colonel”. Finally, the increases in pay for Specialties will increase every two years. It is necessary to be in the top twenty percent of your class to gain promotion to an Advanced pay grade.
