Army Pay Chart British – The U.S. Military PayScale is the basic salary scale used by all members of the Armed forces. U.S. military pay scales are used as the main measure of personnel pay. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps are the branches which use the scale of pay used by military personnel. Each of these branches have particular rules and regulations that determine its pay scale. These include bonuses and compensation for seniority.
A cost of employment index is how much the U.S. military pay scale called The Allowable Rate. The index is determined by analyzing the need for enlisted personnel, permanent personnel, and temporary military retirees per 100 active duty personnel. After analyzing these elements and adjusting the rate so that it takes into account the strength requirements for each group to ensure a sufficient workforce. This is the method used to fix a basic rate of military pay that is then used in each branch.
It is the U.S army has a ranking system in place. Its ranks are set in the hands of the First Lieutenant and up and include officers like sergeants, lieutenants (colonels), lieutenants, and majors. Within the army, there are three levels ordered from the top to the bottom within the command chain. They are known as “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.
The other pay scale used by the army is the First Major First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant and the list goes on. It ranks individuals in various categories of service within the different wings in the military. For example, lower-ranked individuals within The Marine Corps will be considered Officers Placed In Reserve or Officers Regular. However, higher-ranking individuals are classified as Specialists or Officers Special. Also, those in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruiters and those in the Navy will be considered Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.
The next level in the pay scale for military personnel is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this rung is known as the ” Colonel”. When you reach the rank of Colonel, you will be promoted to General and will be accountable for all military personnel and the entire staff. In this position you’ll also receive the most salary per day. At higher levels, will receive the most number of paid days of leave per month.
Pay increments at this level are based on the military cost index for employment. This is a way to adjust for the inflation of living expenses. If a location has high cost index, the costs of living are expected to be greater than when the cost index is less. This will result in an increase of the wages of military personnel who have high educational qualifications and were promoted and received pay increases similar to those at lower paygrades. Promotions in lower pay grades have no pay increase.
Officers that are both employed and enlisted are given a promotion to a Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid in this grade is based on their actual commission ratings which is usually greater than the actual star. In higher ranks of command that include Colonels, both commissioned and enlisted officers are entitled to promotions to Colonel. Once they have been upgraded to Colonel, all officers who are commissioned will qualify for general promotion. So, officers who have had a previous promotion to General will be eligible for promotions to Vice Captain or a Major.
Finally, the increases in pay for Specialties are increased approximately every two years. You need to be in the top twenty percent of your enlistment class to be promoted to the pay grade of Specialized. These pay grades include Technician, Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. Individuals who hold any of these pay grades may apply to become a surgeon technician or Medical Assistant, once they’ve completed the required number or years in service, and reached the minimum level for promotion.
