The index for employment costs establishes what is known as the U.S. military pay scale called The Allowable Rate. The index is determined through the analysis of the demand for enlisted troops, permanent personnel, and temporary military retirees for 100 active-duty personnel. When considering these aspects, the rate is adjusted to provide a rate that takes into account the strength requirements of each group in order to guarantee a sufficient workforce. This process is used to define a minimum military pay that is then used in each branch.

The U.S army has its ranking established system. The ranks are established in the hands of the First Lieutenant and higher and comprise officers such as sergeants, lieutenants and Colonels and majors. In the army, three levels are in order from highest to lowest within the command chain. They are referred to as “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The other pay scale that is utilized in the army is called the First Major First Lieutenant, First Lieutenant and further on. These pay scales rank people in various areas of work in the different wings that comprise the Army. For example, individuals with lower rank within military units like the Marine Corps will be considered Officers Placed In Reserve or Officers Regular. However, higher-ranking individuals will be classified as Officers Special or Specialists. Additionally, those who are in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits, and those in the Navy will be designated as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next level in the military pay scale is the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this scale is“Colonel” ” Colonel”. When you attain the rank of Colonel, it means that you are a general and will be in charge of the entire military and the whole staff. At this rank you also get the highest amount of pay per day. Higher levels will be able to enjoy an increased number of of paid time off per calendar month.

Pay increases at this level are dependent on the military’s cost of living index. This is a method to take into account the rise of the cost of living. In areas with one with a high cost index, the cost of living is anticipated to be more expensive than when the cost index is lower. This causes an increase in the amount of pay paid to military personnel who have a high education and experienced similar promotions and pay increases similar to those at lower paygrades. Promotions in posts below their pay grade have no pay increase.

Officers who are both engaged and commissioned receive promotions to Warrant Officer. The salary they earn as a Warrant Officer is based on their commission rating and is typically above the grade of their real star. In higher ranks of command such as Colonel both commissioned, and enlisted officers will be eligible for promotions to Colonel. After an upgrade to Colonel, all officers who are commissioned are eligible for general promotion. Thus, those who have before been promoted as a General will be eligible to receive a promotion to Vice Captain or Major.

In addition, the salaries for Specialties go up  every two years. It is necessary to be in the top twenty percent of your enlistment class in order to earn the pay grade of Specialized. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist, as well as Information Technology Specialist. Individuals who hold any of these specialty paygrades are eligible to apply for the position of surgeon technician or Medical Assistant when they have reached the required number hours of work experience and achieved the level of promotion required.
