An index of the cost of employment determines how much the U.S. military pay scale called“the Allowable Rate. The index is calculated by studying the need for enlisted personnel, permanent personnel, and temporary military retirees for 100 active duty personnel. After analyzing these elements and adjusting the rate so that it is based on the requirements for strength of each of these groups to ensure that there is a sufficient number of workers. This is the method used to create a basic military wage which is then utilized in every branch.

The U.S army has a ranking process in place. The ranks are established with the help of First Lieutenant and the upper levels and comprise officers such as sergeants, lieutenants and Colonels and majors. In the army, there are three levels in order from highest to lowest to the top of the line of command. They are referred to as “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

Another pay scale utilized by the army is First Major, First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant, and then on. The pay scale ranks individuals across different categories of service within the various branches of the army. For example, the lower-ranking individual’s  within that section of the Marine Corps will be considered Officers Placed In Reserve or Officers Regular. In contrast, upper-ranked individuals will be classified as Officers Special or Specialists. Additionally, those who are in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits and those who are in the Navy will be classified as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next step in the military pay scale is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this rank is“Colonel” ” Colonel”. When you reach the rank of Colonel, you will be a general and will be accountable for all of the military and the whole staff. As a Colonel you’ll also receive the highest amount of pay per day. At higher levels, will be able to enjoy the most number of paid days of leave per month.

Pay increases at this point are dependent on the military’s employment cost index. This is an attempt to account for the rising of the cost of living. When a region has an index of high value, the cost of living is predicted to be greater than when the cost Index is not high. This will result in an increase of the compensation of military members who are highly educated and who have experienced similar promotions and rises as those who are in lower pay levels. Personnel who are promoted to jobs that are not in their pay grade are not given a raise.

Officers who are both an enlisted and commissioned rank get a promotion to a Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid in this grade is based on their commission rating which is usually greater than the grade of their current star. At higher levels of command like Colonel, both commissioned, and enlisted officers can receive a promotion to a Colonel. Once they have been upgraded to Colonel, all officers who are commissioned will qualify for general promotion. This means that those who’ve earlier been promoted to General will be eligible for a promotion to a Vice Captain or a Major.

Lastly, the pay increases for Specialties increase every two years. You must be in the top 20 percent of your class to be promoted to a Specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician, Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist, as well as Information Technology Specialist. People who have any of these pay levels could apply to be a surgical technician, or Medical Assistant, once they’ve reached the minimum number that have served in the past and have attained the necessary promotion level.
