Army Pay Grade Chart – The U.S. Military PayScale is the basic salary scale used by all personnel in the armed forces. U.S. military pay scales serve as a principal measure of personnel compensation. Army, Navy, Air Force as well as Marine Corps are the branches which use the scale of pay used by military personnel. Each of these branches has specific provisions that determine its pay grade. While those with higher rank will be classified as Specialists or Officers Special. In addition, those employed in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruiters and those in the Navy will be designated as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.
The next level up in the military pay scale is called the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost rung is known as“Colonel” ” Colonel”. If you are a Colonel, you will rank as a General and will be accountable for all military personnel and the entire staff. At this level, you will also receive the most money per day. Higher levels will receive the most number of days of paid time off per calendar month.
Pay increases at this rate are based on the military cost of labor index. This is a way to reflect the increasing of living expenses. When an area has an index of high value, the costs of living are expected to be significantly higher than when the cost index is less. This can result in an increase in the pay for military members who have a high education and had similar promotions and raises similar to those of lower pay levels. The ones who are promoted in lower pay grades have no pay increase.
Officers with commissioning and enlisted receive the opportunity to be promoted to Warrant Officer. The salary they earn at this rank is based on their actual commission ratings, which is usually above the grade of their current star. In higher ranks of command such as Colonel both enlisted and commissioned officers are eligible for the rank of Colonel. Following an upgrade to Colonel, all officers who are commissioned are eligible for general promotion. Therefore, those who have earlier been promoted to General will be eligible to receive a promotion to a Vice Captain or a Major.
In addition, the salaries for Specialties go up twice a year. It is necessary to be in the top 20 percent of your class in order to earn the Specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician, Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. Individuals who hold any of these specialties pay grades are eligible to apply for the position of surgeon technician or Medical Assistant after they’ve had the number in years served and have reached the minimum level for promotion.
