Army Pay Grade E5 – The U.S. Military PayScale is the base salary scale for all personnel in the armed forces. U.S. military pay scales are used as the main measurement tool for determining personnel compensation. Army, Navy, Air Force, as well as Marine Corps are the branches that utilize the military pay scale. Each of these branches have specific regulations that determine its pay grade. This includes bonuses and special pay considerations for seniority.
An employment cost index establishes the U.S. military pay scale called“Allowable Rate. The index is determined through the analysis of the need for enlisted personnel, permanent personnel, and temporary military retirees per 100 active duty personnel. After analyzing these variables, the rate is adjusted to create a figure that will be based on the needs of each group for a stable workforce. This is the method used to create a basic military wage that is used by each branch.
The U.S army has its own ranking method in operation. The ranks are decided by the First Lieutenant, and beyond and comprise officers such as sergeants, lieutenants and Colonels, and majors. In the army, three levels are classified from the highest to the lowest on the hierarchy of commands. They are known as the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.
The second pay scale used by the army is the First Major First Lieutenant, First Lieutenant, and so on. This ranks people in different categories of service within the various wings of the army. For example, individuals with lower rank within that section of the Marine Corps will be considered Officers placed in Reserve or Officers Regular. On the other hand, those with higher ranks will be classified as Specialists or Officers Special. In addition, individuals in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruiters and those in the Navy are classified as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.
The next stage in the pay scale for military personnel is called the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost scale is the ” Colonel”. If you are a Colonel, you become a General and will be in charge of all military personnel and the entire staff. As a Colonel, you will also receive the highest amount of pay per day. If you are promoted to higher levels, you will be able to enjoy an increased number of paid days of holiday per month.
Pay increases at this rate are in accordance with the military’s cost of labor index. This allows you to adjust for the inflation of living costs. When a region has an index that is high, then the cost of living is likely to be much more than when the index is lower. This leads to an increase in the pay for military members who are educated and have received similar promotions and raises similar to those of lower paygrades. Promotions in areas below their paygrade receive no increase.
Officers who are both in the enlisted and commissioned ranks receive a promotion to a Warrant Officer. The salary they earn for this position is based on the commission they receive that is generally higher than the rank of their actual star. When they reach higher levels of the command, such as Colonel, both commissioned and enlisted officers can receive an upgrade to Colonel. Once they have been upgraded to Colonel, all commissioned officers are eligible for general promotions. Therefore, those who have prior to that been upgraded to General will be qualified to be promoted to a Vice Captain or Major.
In addition, the salaries for Specialties are increased at least every 2 years. You have to be among the top 20 percent of your class to gain promotion to an specialized pay grade. These pay grades include Technician, Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. Those with any of these specialty paygrades could apply to be a Surgical Technician, or a Medical Assistant when they’ve reached the minimum number in years served and have achieved the level of promotion required.
