Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps are the branches that use the pay scales used by the military. Each of these branches have specific requirements that determine their pay grade. An employment cost index determines this U.S. military pay scale known as The Allowable Rate. The index is calculated through the analysis of the amount of enlisted members as well as permanent and temporary military retirees for 100 active duty personnel. After analyzing these elements, the rate is adjusted to create a figure that relies on the strength requirements of each of these groups to guarantee an adequate workforce. The U.S army has its rank process in place. The ranks are established in the hands of the First Lieutenant and up and comprise officers such as sergeants, lieutenants (colonels), lieutenants, and majors. The higher-ranked ones are classified as Officers Special or Specialists. In addition, those employed in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits. Likewise, those in the Navy will be regarded as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.
The next step in the military pay scale is called the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost ladder is the ” Colonel”. As a Colonel, are a general and be responsible for all military personnel and the entire staff. At this rank you’ll also earn the most salary per day. At higher levels, are entitled to an increased number of days of paid holidays per year.
Pay increments at this level are in accordance with the military’s cost index for employment. This is a method to take into account the rise of living expenses. After a promotion to Colonel, all officers commissioned will qualify for general promotion. So, officers who have prior to that been upgraded to General are eligible to receive a promotion to Vice Captain or Major.
The pay increases for Specialties go up every two years. You have to be in the top 20 percent of your class in order to earn an Advanced pay grade. These pay grades include Technician, Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. If you have one of these pay grade specializations may apply to become a surgical technician, or Medical Assistant after they’ve had the number that have served in the past and have attained the necessary promotion level.
