If you are a Colonel, you will be promoted to General and will be in charge of all of the military and the whole staff. At this rank you’ll also receive the most salary per day. In higher ranks, you will be able to enjoy an increased number of of paid holiday per month.
Pay increases at this level are dependent on the military’s cost of employment. This is a way to adjust for the inflation of costs of living. When an area is characterized by an index that is high, the cost of living will be expected to be significantly higher than when the Index is not high. This results in an increase in the amount of pay paid to military personnel who have a high education and had similar promotions and increases that are comparable to those in lower pay levels. Those who are promoted in jobs that are not in their pay grade receive no increment.
Officers with in the enlisted and commissioned ranks receive the opportunity to be promoted to Warrant Officer. The pay they receive in this grade is determined by their actual commission score, which is usually above the actual star. In higher ranks of command that include Colonels, both commissioned, and enlisted officers can receive advancement to the rank of Colonel. After a promotion to Colonel, all officers commissioned are eligible for general promotion. For example, those who’ve earlier been promoted to General will be capable of being promoted to Vice Captain or a Major.
Lastly, the pay increases for Specialties go up twice a year. You have to be among the top 20 percent of your class to be promoted to the Specialized pay grade. These pay grades include Technician, Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. Individuals who hold any of these pay grade specializations may apply to become a surgeon technician or Medical Assistant, once they’ve completed the necessary number of years of service and have completed the required level of promotion.
