Army Pay Scale Chart – The U.S. Military PayScale is the basic salary scale used by every member of the armed forces. U.S. military pay scales are used as the main gauge for determining the amount of pay. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps are the branches that use the military pay scale. Each of these branches has specific requirements that determine their pay scale. This includes bonuses and a special compensation for seniority.
An employment cost index determines what is known as the U.S. military pay scale called“Allowed” Rate. The index is calculated by looking at the demand for enlisted personnel as well as permanent and temporary military retirees for 100 active-duty personnel. After considering these factors to determine the appropriate rate, it is adjusted to create a figure that takes into account the strength requirements for each group for a stable workforce. This technique is used to fix a basic rate of military pay which is later used in each branch.
The U.S army has a ranking structure in place. The ranks are decided in the hands of the First Lieutenant and higher and comprise officers such as sergeants, lieutenants or Colonels, and majors. Within the army, three levels are listed from the top to the lowest in the chain of command. They are known as the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.
The other pay scale that is utilized by the army is First Major First Lieutenant, First Lieutenant and further on. It ranks individuals in various categories of service within the various branches that comprise the Army. For instance, people with lower ranks within that section of the Marine Corps will be considered Officers Placed In Reserve, or Officers Regular. For those who are higher-ranked, they will be classified as Officers Special or Specialists. In addition, those employed in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits. Likewise, those who are in the Navy are classified as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.
The next stage in the pay scale for military personnel is the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost level is called the ” Colonel”. At Colonel rank, you become a General and will be accountable for all military personnel and the whole staff. At this level you’ll also earn the highest amount of pay per day. At higher levels, you will receive a number of of paid annual vacation.
Pay increases at this level are determined by the military cost of labor index. This allows you to accommodate for the increase of living expenses. If an area has one with a high cost index, the cost of living is likely to be higher than when the cost index is less. This results in an increase in the salaries of military personnel who have a high education and who have experienced similar promotions and rises as those who are in lower pay levels. Personnel who are promoted to jobs that are not in their pay grade receive no increment.
Officers who have both engaged and commissioned receive an advancement to a Warrant Officer. The salary they earn at this rank is based on their actual commission score and is typically above the grade of their real star. In higher ranks of command like Colonel, both commissioned and enlisted officers will be entitled to being promoted to Colonel. After an upgrade to a Colonel, all officers who are commissioned will qualify for general promotion. Thus, those who have previously been promoted to General are qualified to be promoted to Vice Captain or a Major.
Also, the increments in pay for Specialties go up every two years. It is necessary to be among the top 20 percent of your class to qualify for the pay grade of Specialized. The pay grades are Technician, Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. Individuals who hold any of these specialties pay grades can apply to become a surgeon technician or Medical Assistant, after they have reached the required number hours of work experience and have achieved the level of promotion required.
