U.S. military pay scales serve as a principal assessment tool to calculate personnel pay. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps are the branches using the military pay scale. Each of these branches has particular rules and regulations that determine its pay grade. This includes bonuses as well as special pay considerations for seniority.

Army Pay Scale In 1972

An index of cost of employment establishes this U.S. military pay scale called“Allowed” Rate. The index is determined using the demand for enlisted troops, permanent personnel, and temporary military retirees per 100 active-duty soldiers. After analyzing these variables The rate is then adjusted to give a rate that takes into account the strength requirements for each group to ensure a sufficient workforce. This method is used in order to define a minimum military pay that is later applied in every branch.

It is the U.S army has a ranking established system. Its ranks are set through the first lieutenant and above and include officers like sergeants, lieutenants (colonels), lieutenants, and majors. In the army, three levels are in order from highest to lowest at the bottom of the rank chain. They are known as the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The pay scale that is used within the army are the First Major First Lieutenant, First Lieutenant and then on. This ranks the people working in different areas of service within the various branches that comprise the Army. For example, individuals with lower rank within the Marine Corps will be considered Officers Placed In Reserve, or Officers Regular. The higher-ranked ones are classified as Officers Special or Specialists. Additionally, those who are in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits and those who are in the Navy will be designated as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next level in the pay scale for military personnel is called the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost scale is“Colonel” ” Colonel”. If you are a Colonel, you will be considered a General and be responsible for all military personnel and the entire staff. At this rank you’ll also be able to receive the most amounts of money per day. If you are promoted to higher levels, you will also receive an increased number of paid days of annual vacation.

Pay increase at this level are calculated based on the army cost of employment. This allows you to keep track of the rate of inflation of costs of living. When an area is characterized by an index that is high, the cost of living will be expected to be significantly higher than when the of living index is very low. This can result in an increase in the compensation of military members with a higher education level and were promoted and received pay increases that are comparable to those in lower pay grades. People who are promoted to jobs that are not in their pay grade are not given a raise.

Officers who are employed and enlisted are given a promotion to a Warrant Officer. The salary they earn as a Warrant Officer is based on their actual commission ratings which is usually higher than the grade of their real star. When they reach higher levels of the command that include Colonels, both commissioned and enlisted officers are entitled to the rank of Colonel. Once they have been upgraded to Colonel, all officers who are commissioned can apply for general promotions. Thus, those who have had a previous promotion to General will be capable of being promoted to a Vice Captain or a Major.

The pay increases for Specialties increases  every two years. You have to be in the top twenty percent of your class in order to earn the Specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician, Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist, as well as Information Technology Specialist. Anyone with one of these specialty paygrades can apply to become a surgical technician or Medical Assistant when they’ve reached the minimum number that have served in the past and have achieved the level of promotion required.
