As a Colonel you’ll also be able to receive the highest amount of pay per day. If you are promoted to higher levels, you can expect to receive a number of days of paid holiday per month.
Pay increases at this point are dependent on the military’s index of cost of employment. This is a way to adjust for the inflation of living expenses. If a location has one with a high cost index, the cost of living is likely to be more expensive than when the index is less. Also, the increments in pay for Specialties increase twice a year. You need to be in the top twenty percent of your enlistment class to qualify for an specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. The people who have any of these specialty pay grades can apply to become Surgical Technician, or a Medical Assistant when they’ve completed the necessary number or years in service, and have completed the required level of promotion.
