Army Pay Table – The U.S. Military PayScale is the base salary scale of all members of the armed forces. U.S. military pay scales are used as a major measurement tool to determine personnel compensation. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps are the branches which utilize the military pay scale. Each of these branches have specific laws that govern its pay grade. This includes bonuses and other special compensation for seniority.
An index of the cost of employment determines the U.S. military pay scale called the Allowable Rate. The index is found by studying the need for enlisted personnel in permanent and permanent personnel as well as temporary military retirees for 100 active-duty military personnel. After analyzing these variables, the rate is adjusted to give a rate that considers the strength requirements for each group to guarantee an adequate workforce. This process is used to determine a basic military salary which is then utilized in every branch.
The U.S army has its own ranking process in place. The ranks are decided at the level of the First Lieutenant and higher and include officers like sergeants, lieutenants or Colonels and majors. Within the army, there are three levels ordered from the top to the bottom to the top of the line of command. They are known as the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.
The other pay scale employed by the army is First Major First Lieutenant, First Lieutenant and the list goes on. The pay scale ranks individuals across different fields of service in the different branches that comprise the Army. For example, lower-ranked individuals within the Marine Corps will be considered Officers in Reserve or Officers Regular. While those with higher rank are classified as Officers Special or Specialists. Also, those in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits. Likewise, those who are in the Navy will be classified as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.
The next rung on the pay scale for military personnel is the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost step is known as“Colonel” ” Colonel”. When you attain the rank of Colonel, it means that you will rank as a General and be responsible for the entire military and entire staff. In this position you’ll also be able to receive the most amounts of money per day. As you progress, you will receive a number of of paid holidays per year.
Pay increments at this level are calculated based on the army cost of employment. This allows you to reflect the increasing of the cost of living. When an area has an index that is high, then the cost of living will be expected to be more expensive than when the cost index is lower. This is a reason for an increase the amount of pay paid to military personnel with a higher education level and who have experienced similar promotions and increases similar to those at lower paygrades. Promotions in positions below their pay grade get no raise.
Officers who hold both a commissioned and enlisted rank receive an upgrade to Warrant Officer. The salary they earn for this position is determined by their actual commission score which is usually greater than the grade of their real star. At higher levels of leadership that include Colonels, both commissioned and enlisted officers can receive promotions to Colonel. After an upgrade to Colonel, all officers who are commissioned will be eligible for general promotion. So, officers who have already been elevated to General are eligible for promotions to a Vice Captain or a Major.
The pay increases for Specialties will increase at least every 2 years. You must be in the top 20 percent of your class to gain promotion to the Specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. Those with any of these specialties pay grades can apply to become a surgical technician, or Medical Assistant after they’ve had the number or years in service, and have reached the minimum level for promotion.
