A cost of employment index is the U.S. military pay scale called“allowable” Rate. The index is determined through examining the demands for enlisted personnel or permanent employees, as well as temporary military retirees for 100 active-duty military personnel. After taking into account these factors and adjusting the rate to give a percentage that relies on the strength requirements of each group to guarantee an adequate workforce. This is the method used to establish a base military pay which is later used in every branch.

The U.S army has a ranking system in place. The ranks are determined in the hands of the First Lieutenant and the upper levels and comprise officers such as Colonels, lieutenants, sergeants, and majors. Within the army, three levels are ranked from highest to lowest in the chain of command. They are referred to as “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The other pay scale used in the army is First Major First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant and the list goes on. This is a way of grading people across various areas of service within the various wings in the military. For example, the lower-ranking individual’s  in the Marine Corps will be considered Officers Reserved or Officers Regular. On the other hand, those with higher ranks are classified as Officers Special or Specialists. In addition, those in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits. Likewise, those in the Navy will be regarded as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next step up the pay scale of the military is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this step is known as“Colonel” ” Colonel”. When you attain the rank of Colonel, it means that you will be a general and have the responsibility for your entire army and entire staff. At this level you’ll also receive the most amounts of money per day. If you are promoted to higher levels, you will also receive a number of days of paid vacation per month.

Pay increase at this level are dependent on the index of cost of employment. This is an attempt to take into account the rise of living costs. If an area has an index of high value, the cost of living is expected to be more expensive than when the cost Index is not high. This will result in an increase of the amount of pay paid to military personnel who are educated and have were promoted and received pay increases that are comparable to those in lower pay levels. People who are promoted to jobs that are not in their pay grade get no raise.

Officers who hold both a commissioned and enlisted rank receive promotions to Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid with this title is based on their commission rating that is typically higher than the grade of their current star. When they reach higher levels of the command like Colonel both commissioned and enlisted officers will be eligible for advancement to the rank of Colonel. After a promotion to Colonel, all commissioned officers are eligible for general promotions. This means that those who’ve already been elevated to General will be qualified to be promoted to Vice Captain or a Major.

The pay increases for Specialties will increase  every two years. You must be among the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to gain promotion to an Advanced pay grade. The pay grades are Technician, Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. People who have any of these specialty pay grades can apply to become a surgical technician or Medical Assistant, after they’ve completed the necessary number that have served in the past and have reached the appropriate promotion level.
