Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps are the branches that employ the scale of pay used by military personnel. An employment cost index determines the U.S. military pay scale called“Allowable Rate. The next step in the military pay scale is called the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost scale is“Colonel” ” Colonel”. As a Colonel, will be a general and have the responsibility for the entire military as well as the whole staff. At this level, you will also receive the most salary per day. At higher levels, can expect to receive a number of of paid holiday per month.

Pay increase at this level are based on the military cost index for employment. This allows you to reflect the increasing of the cost of living. In areas with an index of high value, the cost of living is likely to be much more than when the index is low. This leads to an increase in the salaries of military personnel who are highly educated and were promoted and received pay increases similar to those at lower pay grades. For those who have promotions in positions below their pay grade receive no increase.

Officers with in the enlisted and commissioned ranks receive an advancement to a Warrant Officer. The salary they earn for this position is determined by the commission they receive and is typically above the rank of their actual star. At higher levels of leadership that include Colonels, both commissioned, and enlisted officers can be eligible for being promoted to Colonel. Following an upgrade to Colonel, all officers who are commissioned are eligible for general promotions. That means, those who’ve had a previous promotion to General are qualified to be promoted to a Vice Captain or a Major.

Finally, the increases in pay for Specialties increase  every two years. You need to be in the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to qualify for a Specialized pay grade. These pay grades include Technician, Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. Anyone with one of these specialty paygrades may apply to become a surgical technician or Medical Assistant, after they’ve reached the required number in years served and attained the necessary promotion level.
