Each branch has specific laws that govern its pay scale. This includes bonuses as well as special payment considerations for seniors.

An index of the cost of employment determines the U.S. military pay scale known as The Allowable Rate. The index is determined by studying the demand for enlisted personnel as well as permanent and temporary military retirees per 100 active duty personnel. After analyzing these elements, the rate is adjusted to create a figure that relies on the strength requirements for each group to ensure a sufficient workforce. This technique is used to determine a basic military salary which is later used in each branch.

The U.S army has its own ranking method in operation. Its ranks are formulated at the level of the First Lieutenant and higher and include officers like sergeants, lieutenants or Colonels and majors. Within the army, there are three levels listed from the top to the lowest through the order of the commander. They are referred to as the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The other pay scale that is utilized by the army is First Major, First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant and then on. These pay scales rank people in various fields of service in the various branches of the army. For example, the lower-ranking individual’s  within The Marine Corps will be considered Officers Reserved or Officers Regular. For those who are higher-ranked, they will be classified as Officers Special or Specialists. Additionally, those who are in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits, and those who are in the Navy will be classified as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next step in the pay scale for military personnel is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this step is known as“Colonel” ” Colonel”. When you attain the rank of Colonel, it means that you become a General and will oversee your entire army and whole staff. At this level you’ll also receive the most money per day. In higher ranks, you will be able to enjoy a number of of paid vacation per month.

Pay increases at this point are in accordance with the military’s cost of living index. This is a method to keep track of the rate of inflation of costs of living. If an area has an index that is high, then the cost of living is predicted to be much higher than when the cost Index is not high. This results in an increase in the wages of military personnel who have high educational qualifications and had similar promotions and rises as those who are in lower pay levels. For those who have promotions in the lower ranks of their pay receive no increment.

Officers who are both in the enlisted and commissioned ranks receive an upgrade to Warrant Officer. The pay they receive in this grade is determined by their commission rating that is typically higher than the rank of their actual star. At higher levels of command including Colonel, both commissioned and enlisted officers can be eligible for promotions to Colonel. When they are upgraded to Colonel, all officers who are commissioned are eligible for general promotions. This means that those who’ve earlier been promoted to a General will be eligible to receive a promotion to a Vice Captain or a Major.

Additionally, the salary increases for Specialties rise  every two years. You need to be among the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to gain promotion to the Specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician, Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist, as well as Information Technology Specialist. People who have any of these specialty paygrades could apply to be a surgical technician, or Medical Assistant when they’ve completed the required number or years in service, and have completed the required level of promotion.
