An employment cost index determines an U.S. military pay scale called the Allowable Rate. The index is found by looking at the demand for enlisted personnel as well as permanent personnel and temporary military retirees per 100 active-duty soldiers. After analyzing these variables The rate is then adjusted to give a rate that considers the strength requirements of each group to guarantee an adequate workforce. This method is employed to create a basic military wage that is then used in every branch.

The U.S army has its own ranking process in place. The ranks are determined through the first lieutenant, and beyond and include officers like Sergeants, lieutenants, Colonels, and majors. Within the army, three levels are ranked from highest to lowest within the command chain. They are known as “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The other pay scale used by the army is First Major First Lieutenant, First Lieutenant and so on. It ranks individuals in various areas of work in the various branches that comprise the Army. For instance, people with lower ranks within their respective divisions of the Marine Corps will be considered officers placed in reserve or Officers Regular. In contrast, upper-ranked individuals will be classified as Specialists or Officers Special. Additionally, those who are in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits and those in the Navy are classified as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next step up the pay scale of the military is the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this level is called the ” Colonel”. When you reach the rank of Colonel, you will be a general and will be accountable for the entire military as well as the whole staff. At this level you also get the most amounts of money per day. In higher ranks, you will be able to enjoy an increased number of paid days of vacation per month.

Pay increase at this level are determined by the military cost of employment. This is an attempt to reflect the increasing of costs of living. When an area is characterized by an index that is high, the cost of living will be expected to be greater than when the cost index falls. This can result in an increase in the pay for military members who are highly educated and had similar promotions and increases that are comparable to those in lower pay levels. The ones who are promoted in the lower ranks of their pay receive no additional pay.

Officers who are in the enlisted and commissioned ranks receive promotions to Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid for this position is based on the actual rating of their commission which is usually higher than the level of their actual star. When they reach higher levels of the command, such as Colonel, both enlisted and commissioned officers will be eligible for a promotion to a Colonel. After an upgrade to a Colonel, all officers commissioned can be promoted to general. That means, those who’ve earlier been promoted to a General are eligible to receive a promotion to Vice Captain or a Major.

Also, the increments in pay for Specialties go up approximately every two years. You must be among the top 20 percent of your class to qualify for an advanced pay grade. These pay grades include Technician, Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist, as well as Information Technology Specialist. Those with any of these specialties pay grades are eligible to apply for the position of surgical technician or Medical Assistant after they’ve reached the required number that have served in the past and have reached the appropriate promotion level.
