For example, the lower-ranking individual’s within those in the Marine Corps will be considered Officers in Reserve or Officers Regular. For those who are higher-ranked, they will be classified as Officers Special or Specialists. In addition, individuals in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruiters and those who are in the Navy will be regarded as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.
The next step in the pay scale of the military is the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this rank is“Colonel” ” Colonel”. When you attain the rank of Colonel, it means that you become a General and will be accountable for the entire military as well as the entire staff. At this level you’ll also earn the most salary per day. Higher levels will also receive the most number of paid days of leave per month.
Pay increases at this level are based on the military cost of living index. This is a way to account for the rising of living expenses. When a region has an index of high value, the cost of living is anticipated to be more expensive than when the cost index is less. This is a reason for an increase the pay for military members who are highly educated and who have experienced similar promotions and rises as those who are in lower pay grades. For those who have promotions in lower pay grades are not given a raise.

The pay increases for Specialties are increased approximately every two years. You have to be in the top 20 percent of your class to qualify for a Specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician, Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. Individuals who hold any of these specialties pay grades may apply to become a surgical technician, or Medical Assistant, after they’ve reached the required number in years served and have reached the required promotion level.
