Pay increase at this level are in accordance with the military’s cost of employment. This is an attempt to keep track of the rate of inflation of living costs. If a location has one with a high cost index, the cost of living is predicted to be significantly higher than when the index is lower. This results in an increase in the compensation of military members who are highly educated and enjoyed similar promotions as well as pay raises similar to those of lower pay grades. Promotions in the lower ranks of their pay are not given a raise.

Officers who are both employed and enlisted are given an upgrade to Warrant Officer. Finally, the increases in pay for Specialties increase  every two years. You need to be among the top 20 percent of your class to qualify for an specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. Anyone with one of these specialty paygrades may apply to become a surgical technician, or Medical Assistant once they’ve reached the required number that have served in the past and reached the required promotion level.
