An index of the cost of employment determines an U.S. military pay scale known as“allowable” Rate. The index is determined by studying the amount of enlisted members as well as permanent personnel and temporary military retirees for 100 active-duty military personnel. After considering these factors to determine the appropriate rate, it is adjusted to give a rate that will be based on the needs of each group to guarantee an adequate workforce. This method is employed to create a basic military wage that is later applied in each branch.

It is the U.S army has a ranking process in place. The ranks are established in the hands of the First Lieutenant and the upper levels and comprise officers such as sergeants, lieutenants (colonels), lieutenants and majors. Within the army, there are three levels ordered from the top to the bottom on the hierarchy of commands. They are referred to as “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The other pay scale employed in the army is First Major First Lieutenant, First Lieutenant, and further on. The pay scale ranks individuals across different sectors of service in different wings in the military. For example, the lower-ranking individual’s  within military units like the Marine Corps will be considered Officers Placed In Reserve, or Officers Regular. The higher-ranked ones are classified as Specialists or Officers Special. In addition, individuals in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits, and those in the Navy will be classified as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next level in the pay scale of the military is the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this ladder is“Colonel” ” Colonel”. When you attain the rank of Colonel, it means that you will be promoted to General and will be accountable for all military personnel and the whole staff. At this rank, you will also receive the most amounts of money per day. At higher levels, you will be able to enjoy the most number of paid days of leave per month.

Pay rises at this point are dependent on the cost of employment. This is a way to take into account the rise in living expenses. In areas with an index of high value, the cost of living is likely to be more expensive than when the index is low. This will result in an increase of the wages of military personnel who have a high education and enjoyed similar promotions as well as pay raises like those in lower paygrades. Those who are promoted in areas below their paygrade have no pay increase.

Officers that are both commissioned and enlisted rank receive the opportunity to be promoted to Warrant Officer. The salary they earn in this grade is based on their actual commission ratings that is generally higher than that of their real star. When they reach higher levels of the command that include Colonels, both commissioned, and enlisted officers can receive promotions to Colonel. After an upgrade to a Colonel, all officers commissioned can be promoted to general. For example, those who’ve previously been promoted to General are eligible for promotions to a Vice Captain or a Major.

Additionally, the salary increases for Specialties rise  every two years. It is necessary to be among the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to be promoted to an Advanced pay grade. These pay grades include Technician, Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist, as well as Information Technology Specialist. Those with any of these specialty paygrades can apply to become surgical technician, or Medical Assistant, after they’ve had the number hours of work experience and attained the necessary promotion level.
