An index of the cost of employment determines this U.S. military pay scale called the Allowable Rate. The index is calculated using the amount of enlisted members, permanent personnel, and temporary military retirees for 100 active-duty soldiers. After considering these factors to determine the appropriate rate, it is adjusted to create a figure that relies on the strength requirements of each group in order to guarantee a sufficient workforce. This process is used to fix a basic rate of military pay which is then utilized in each branch.

It is the U.S army has its own ranking structure in place. Its ranks are established at the level of the First Lieutenant and higher and include officers like Colonels, lieutenants, sergeants, and majors. In the army, there are three levels classified from the highest to the lowest on the hierarchy of commands. They are called the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The second pay scale used within the army are the First Major, First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant and further on. The pay scale ranks individuals across different areas of service within the various wings in the military. For instance, people with lower ranks in the Marine Corps will be considered officers placed in reserve or Officers Regular. On the other hand, those with higher ranks will be classified as Specialists or Officers Special. Additionally, those who are in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruiters and those who are in the Navy will be classified as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next level up in the pay scale for military personnel is the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost rank is the ” Colonel”. If you are a Colonel, you will be a general and will be in charge of your entire army and whole staff. In this position you’ll also be able to receive the highest pay per day. In higher ranks, you will be able to enjoy the most number of paid days of annual vacation.

Pay increases at this rate are determined by the military employment cost index. This allows you to adjust for the inflation of the cost of living. When an area has one with a high cost index, the cost of living is anticipated to be greater than when the cost Index is not high. This results in an increase in the compensation of military members who are educated and have had similar promotions and increases that are comparable to those in lower pay levels. The ones who are promoted in jobs that are not in their pay grade receive no additional pay.

Officers who are commissioning and enlisted receive the opportunity to be promoted to Warrant Officer. The salary they earn at this rank is determined by their commission rating and is typically above the actual star. Higher levels of command including Colonel, both commissioned, and enlisted officers can be eligible for the rank of Colonel. Following an upgrade to Colonel, all officers who are commissioned will qualify for general promotion. Thus, those who have prior to that been upgraded to General are qualified to be promoted to a Vice Captain or a Major.

Also, the increments in pay for Specialties will increase twice a year. It is necessary to be among the top 20 percent of your class to be promoted to a Specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician, Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. Anyone with one of these specialties pay grades can apply to become a surgeon technician or Medical Assistant once they’ve reached the minimum number to years working and have achieved the level of promotion required.
