When you reach the rank of Colonel, you become a General and be responsible for the entire military and entire staff. As a Colonel you’ll also earn the highest pay per day. As you progress, you can expect to receive the most number of days of paid annual vacation.
Pay increase at this level are dependent on the cost of labor index. This allows you to accommodate for the increase of living expenses. In areas with an index that is high, then the cost of living is anticipated to be more expensive than when the Index is not high. This causes an increase in the salaries of military personnel who are educated and have received similar promotions and increases similar to those at lower paygrades. For those who have promotions in areas below their paygrade receive no increment.
Officers who hold both a engaged and commissioned receive an upgrade to Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid for this position is determined by their actual commission ratings that is generally higher than the rank of their actual star.
