U.S. military pay scales are used as a major measurement tool for determining personnel pay. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps are the branches which utilize the military pay scale. Each of these branches has specific requirements that determine their pay grade. This includes bonuses and other special pay considerations for seniority.

An index of cost of employment establishes this U.S. military pay scale called“Allowable Rate. The index is found by studying the need for enlisted personnel or permanent employees, as well as temporary military retirees for 100 active-duty personnel. After taking into account these factors then the rate is adjusted in order to produce a figure that relies on the strength requirements of each of these groups in order to guarantee a sufficient workforce. This process is used to create a basic military wage that is then applied to each branch.

The U.S army has a ranking method in operation. The ranks are decided by the First Lieutenant or above and include officers like sergeants, lieutenants and Colonels, and majors. In the army, three levels are in order from highest to lowest through the order of the commander. They are referred to as the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The pay scale that is used in the army is First Major, First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant, and the list goes on. This ranks people in different areas of service within the different branches that comprise the Army. For example, the lower-ranking individual’s  within their respective divisions of the Marine Corps will be considered Officers Placed In Reserve or Officers Regular. For those who are higher-ranked, they will be classified as Officers Special or Specialists. In addition, individuals in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruiters and those in the Navy will be classified as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next stage in the pay scale of the military is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this step is known as the ” Colonel”. If you are a Colonel, you will be promoted to General and will oversee the entire military and whole staff. In this position you’ll also earn the highest amount of pay per day. In higher ranks, you will receive a number of of paid holidays per year.

Pay increase at this level are determined by the military cost of employment. This is a way to adjust for the inflation of living expenses. If an area has an index that is high, then the cost of living is predicted to be greater than when the Index is not high. This can result in an increase in the pay for military members who are highly educated . They have experienced similar promotions and pay raises similar to those of lower pay levels. For those who have promotions in areas below their paygrade receive no additional pay.

Officers who are an enlisted and commissioned rank get an upgrade to Warrant Officer. The pay they receive in this grade is based on the actual rating of their commission which is usually higher than the grade of their current star. At higher levels of command like Colonel, both commissioned and enlisted officers can be eligible for a promotion to a Colonel. Once they have been upgraded to Colonel, all officers who are commissioned are eligible for general promotions. For example, those who’ve before been promoted as a General will be qualified to be promoted to Vice Captain or a Major.

Additionally, the salary increases for Specialties rise in every couple of years. You need to be among the top 20 percent of your class to get promoted to an advanced pay grade. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. The people who have any of these specialty paygrades could apply to be a Surgical Technician, or a Medical Assistant once they’ve completed the required number of years of service and completed the required level of promotion.
