The next level in the pay scale of the military is the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost level is called“Colonel” ” Colonel”. If you are a Colonel, you are a general and be responsible for all of the military and the whole staff. At this level it is also possible to earn the most salary per day. As you progress, you are entitled to an increased number of paid days of annual vacation.

Pay increase at this level are dependent on the military’s cost of living index. The salary they earn when they reach this level is based on their actual commission score that is typically higher than the actual star. Higher ranks of command including Colonel, both commissioned and enlisted officers can receive promotions to Colonel. After a promotion to Colonel, all commissioned officers are eligible for general promotion. Therefore, those who have earlier been promoted to General are capable of being promoted to Vice Captain or Major.

Also, the increments in pay for Specialties go up twice a year. It is necessary to be in the top 20 percent of your class to gain promotion to the Specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. If you have one of these specialty paygrades are eligible to apply for the position of surgical technician, or Medical Assistant when they’ve had the number or years in service, and achieved the level of promotion required.
