The next step in the pay scale of the military is the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost level is called the ” Colonel”. When you reach the rank of Colonel, you become a General and will be in charge of the entire military and entire staff. In this position you’ll also be able to receive the highest pay per day. Higher levels can expect to receive a number of paid days of leave per month.

Pay increases at this level are determined by the military cost index for employment. This is a way to accommodate for the increase in living expenses. If an area has an index that is high, the cost of living will be expected to be greater than when the cost index is lower. This can result in an increase in the wages of military personnel who are educated and have were promoted and received pay rises as those who are in lower pay grades. People who are promoted to positions below their pay grade receive no increase.

Officers who hold both a employed and enlisted are given an upgrade to Warrant Officer. The pay they receive in this grade is determined by their actual commission ratings which is usually higher than the grade of their real star. At higher levels of leadership like Colonel both commissioned, and enlisted officers will be entitled to advancement to the rank of Colonel. After an upgrade to Colonel, all commissioned officers can apply for general promotions. Thus, those who have prior to that been upgraded to a General are eligible for promotions to Vice Captain or a Major.

The pay increases for Specialties will increase at least every 2 years. You have to be in the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to be promoted to an Advanced pay grade. These pay grades include Technician, Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. The people who have any of these specialties pay grades can apply to become a Surgical Technician, or a Medical Assistant after they have reached the required number of years of service and completed the required level of promotion.
