Australian Army Reserve Pay Rates – The U.S. Military PayScale is the basic salary scale used by all members of the armed forces. U.S. military pay scales are used as a primary gauge for determining the amount of pay. Army, Navy, Air Force, as well as Marine Corps are the branches which use the pay scales used by the military. Each of these branches has particular rules and regulations that determine its pay scale. This includes bonuses and other special compensation for seniority.

An employment cost index establishes this U.S. military pay scale called the Allowable Rate. The index is calculated using the demand for enlisted personnel permanently, permanent personnel, and temporary military retirees per 100 active-duty soldiers. After taking into account these factors to determine the appropriate rate, it is adjusted in order to produce a figure that is based on the requirements for strength of each of these groups to ensure that there is a sufficient number of workers. This technique is used to establish a base military pay that is later applied in every branch.

It is the U.S army has its own ranking process in place. Its ranks are set by the First Lieutenant and higher and include officers like sergeants, lieutenants (colonels), lieutenants, and majors. In the army, there are three levels in order from highest to lowest on the hierarchy of commands. They are referred to as the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The other pay scale used within the army is the First Major First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant, and the list goes on. This ranks the people working in different sectors of service in various wings of the army. For example, the lower-ranking individual’s  within those in the Marine Corps will be considered officers placed in reserve or Officers Regular. For those who are higher-ranked, they are classified as Specialists or Officers Special. In addition, those in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits, and those in the Navy are regarded as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next level in the military pay scale is called the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost scale is the ” Colonel”. At Colonel rank, you will be a general and will have responsibility for all military personnel and the entire staff. At this level you’ll also receive the most salary per day. At higher levels, will receive the most number of paid days of leave per month.

Pay increases at this level are in accordance with the military’s index of cost of employment. This is a method to account for the rising in living expenses. When an area is characterized by an index that is high, then the cost of living is anticipated to be greater than when the cost index falls. This will result in an increase of the pay for military members who are highly educated and received similar promotions and raises like those in lower pay levels. Promotions in positions below their pay grade have no pay increase.

Officers who hold both a commissioning and enlisted receive an increase to the rank of Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid with this title is based on their actual commission score that is typically higher than the actual star. At higher levels of leadership like Colonel, both commissioned and enlisted officers are entitled to the rank of Colonel. Following an upgrade to Colonel, all officers who are commissioned can apply for general promotions. For example, those who’ve already been elevated to a General will be eligible to receive a promotion to Vice Captain or a Major.

In addition, the salaries for Specialties will increase approximately every two years. You need to be among the top 20 percent of your enlistment class in order to earn the Specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. Anyone with one of these specialty paygrades can apply to become a surgical technician, or Medical Assistant when they’ve had the number or years in service, and have reached the appropriate promotion level.
