An index of the cost of employment determines the U.S. military pay scale known as“Allowable Rate. The index is determined through the analysis of the demand for enlisted personnel, permanent personnel, and temporary military retirees per 100 active-duty personnel. After analyzing these variables to determine the appropriate rate, it is adjusted to give a rate that considers the strength requirements of each of these groups to ensure a sufficient workforce. This process is used to establish a base military pay that is later applied in every branch.

It is the U.S army has its own ranking structure in place. Its ranks are formulated in the hands of the First Lieutenant and the upper levels and include officers like sergeants, lieutenants (colonels), lieutenants and majors. Within the army, there are three levels classified from the highest to the lowest to the top of the line of command. They are known as “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The other pay scale employed within the army is the First Major, First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant, and the list goes on. This is a way of grading people across various sectors of service in different branches of the army. For instance, those with lower ranks in the Marine Corps will be considered Officers Reserved or Officers Regular. The higher-ranked ones are classified as Specialists or Officers Special. Additionally, those who are in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits, while those who are in the Navy will be designated as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next level up in the military pay scale is the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost scale is the ” Colonel”. As a Colonel, will be considered a General and will oversee the entire military and whole staff. At this rank you’ll also receive the most money per day. If you are promoted to higher levels, you are entitled to a number of paid days of time off per calendar month.

Pay increases at this point are in accordance with the military’s cost index for employment. This is a way to adjust for the inflation in living expenses. If a location has a high index, the cost of living is predicted to be more expensive than when the cost index is less. This can result in an increase in the pay for military members who are educated and have received similar promotions and increments that are similar to those in lower paygrades. The ones who are promoted in posts below their pay grade have no pay increase.

Officers with an enlisted and commissioned rank get an increase to the rank of Warrant Officer. The salary they earn at this rank is based on their actual commission ratings which is usually higher than the actual star. In higher ranks of command like Colonel both enlisted and commissioned officers are eligible for an upgrade to Colonel. Following an upgrade to Colonel, all officers commissioned can be promoted to general. This means that those who’ve previously been promoted to General will be qualified for promotion to Vice Captain or a Major.

Finally, the increases in pay for Specialties increases in every couple of years. You need to be in the top twenty percent of your enlistment class to gain promotion to the pay grade of Specialized. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. Individuals who hold any of these pay grades can apply to become a surgeon technician or Medical Assistant once they’ve completed the necessary number in years served and completed the required level of promotion.
