An index of cost of employment establishes how much the U.S. military pay scale known as“the Allowable Rate. The index is determined by looking at the demands for enlisted personnel in permanent and permanent personnel as well as temporary military retirees per 100 active-duty personnel. After analyzing these elements, the rate is adjusted to give a percentage that assumes the strength requirements of each of these groups to ensure a sufficient workforce. This is the method used to determine a basic military salary that is later applied in each branch.

It is the U.S army has a ranking procedure in force. Its ranks are formulated from the rank of First Lieutenant or above and comprise officers such as Lieutenants, Colonels, sergeants, and majors. In the army, three levels are placed from top to bottom on the hierarchy of commands. They are referred to as the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The other pay scale that is utilized in the army is First Major, First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant, and so on. This ranks people in different sectors of service in various wings of the army. For example, lower-ranked individuals within military units like the Marine Corps will be considered Officers Reserved or Officers Regular. While those with higher rank are classified as Officers Special or Specialists. In addition, individuals in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits, and those who are in the Navy will be classified as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next step up the pay scale of the military is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this rank is the ” Colonel”. When you reach the rank of Colonel, you become a General and will be accountable for the entire military and the whole staff. As a Colonel you’ll also earn the most money per day. At higher levels, will also receive a number of paid days of annual vacation.

Pay increases at this rate are dependent on the military’s cost of labor index. This allows you to adjust for the inflation of the cost of living. If a location has an index of high value, the cost of living is likely to be higher than when the index falls. This is a reason for an increase the pay for military members who have a high education and experienced similar promotions and pay increments that are similar to those in lower pay levels. People who are promoted to areas below their paygrade are not given a raise.

Officers who are both commissioned and enlisted rank receive an upgrade to Warrant Officer. The salary they earn at this rank is determined by their actual commission ratings which is usually higher than the grade of their real star. At higher levels of command, such as Colonel, both enlisted and commissioned officers will be entitled to a promotion to a Colonel. Following an upgrade to Colonel, all commissioned officers are eligible for general promotion. That means, those who’ve prior to that been upgraded to a General will be capable of being promoted to a Vice Captain or Major.

Also, the increments in pay for Specialties will increase  every two years. You must be in the top 20 percent of your class in order to earn a Specialized pay grade. These pay grades include Technician, Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. If you have one of these specialties pay grades can apply to become a Surgical Technician, or a Medical Assistant when they’ve reached the minimum number that have served in the past and have reached the appropriate promotion level.
