Pay increments at this level are dependent on the military’s cost of employment. This allows you to reflect the increasing of the cost of living. In areas with an index of high value, the cost of living is expected to be much more than when the cost index is lower. This will result in an increase of the pay for military members who are educated and have were promoted and received pay increments that are similar to those in lower pay grades. Officers that are both employed and enlisted are given an advancement to a Warrant Officer. After a promotion to Colonel, all officers who are commissioned are eligible for general promotions.
