An index of the cost of employment determines an U.S. military pay scale known as The Allowable Rate. The index is found by analyzing the demand for enlisted personnel permanently, permanent personnel, and temporary military retirees for 100 active duty personnel. After analyzing these variables and adjusting the rate to give a rate that takes into account the strength requirements for each group for a stable workforce. This is the method used to determine a basic military salary that is used by every branch.

It is the U.S army has its rank system in place. The ranks are established by the First Lieutenant, and beyond and comprise officers such as Colonels, lieutenants, sergeants, and majors. In the army, three levels are listed from the top to the lowest within the command chain. They are referred to as “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The other pay scale that is utilized within the army are the First Major First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant, and the list goes on. This is a way of grading people across various areas of service within the different branches that comprise the Army. For example, the lower-ranking individual’s  in that section of the Marine Corps will be considered Officers in Reserve or Officers Regular. For those who are higher-ranked, they are classified as Officers Special or Specialists. In addition, those in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits and those who are in the Navy are regarded as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next step up the military pay scale is called the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this level is called the ” Colonel”. In the Colonel rank, you become a General and will have responsibility for the entire military as well as the entire staff. In this position, you will also receive the most amounts of money per day. At higher levels, you will be able to enjoy the most number of of paid holiday per month.

Pay increments at this level are calculated based on the army employment cost index. This is a way to reflect the increasing of costs of living. When a region has one with a high cost index, the cost of living is anticipated to be much higher than when the index is less. This causes an increase in the salaries of military personnel who are highly educated . They have were promoted and received pay raises like those in lower pay levels. The ones who are promoted in posts below their pay grade get no raise.

Officers who have both employed and enlisted are given an increase to the rank of Warrant Officer. The salary they earn at this rank is based on the commission they receive that is typically higher than that of their real star. When they reach higher levels of the command, such as Colonel, both enlisted and commissioned officers can receive promotions to Colonel. After an upgrade to a Colonel, all officers commissioned will be eligible for general promotion. That means, those who’ve before been promoted as a General will be eligible to receive a promotion to Vice Captain or a Major.

Additionally, the salary increases for Specialties go up at least every 2 years. You have to be in the top twenty percent of your class to be promoted to an advanced pay grade. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. People who have any of these pay grades could apply to be a Surgical Technician, or a Medical Assistant after they’ve reached the required number that have served in the past and have completed the required level of promotion.
