Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps are the branches that use the pay scales used by the military. Each of these branches have specific laws that govern its pay scale. The next step in the pay scale of the military is the ” Sergeant Major”. At the top of this rank is the ” Colonel”. At Colonel rank, you will be promoted to General and be responsible for all military personnel and the entire staff. As a Colonel you also get the most salary per day. At higher levels, are entitled to the most number of paid days of vacation per month.
Pay increases at this level are calculated based on the army cost of living index. This is an attempt to keep track of the rate of inflation of living expenses. When an area has an index of high value, the costs of living are expected to be more expensive than when the cost index is lower. This can result in an increase in the salary of military personnel who are highly educated and experienced similar promotions and pay raises similar to those of lower pay levels. Personnel who are promoted to lower pay grades get no raise.
Officers with employed and enlisted are given the opportunity to be promoted to Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid in this grade is based on the actual rating of their commission that is generally higher than that of their real star. At higher levels of leadership including Colonel, both commissioned and enlisted officers will be entitled to the rank of Colonel. After an upgrade to a Colonel, all officers commissioned are eligible for general promotions. This means that those who’ve had a previous promotion to General will be eligible for promotions to a Vice Captain or a Major.
In addition, the salaries for Specialties are increased every two years. You have to be among the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to gain promotion to a Specialized pay grade. These pay grades include Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. The people who have any of these pay grades can apply to become surgeon technician or Medical Assistant, once they’ve completed the necessary number or years in service, and reached the appropriate promotion level.
