Additionally, the salary increases for Specialties go up twice a year. You need to be among the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to be promoted to an Advanced pay grade. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. Individuals who hold any of these pay grade specializations could apply to be a Surgical Technician, or a Medical Assistant once they’ve completed the necessary number hours of work experience and have reached the appropriate promotion level.
