How Much Army Pays – The U.S. Military PayScale is the basic salary scale used by all members of the Armed forces. U.S. military pay scales are used as the main measurement tool for determining personnel compensation. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps are the branches that utilize the scale of pay used by military personnel. Each of these branches has specific rules that define its pay scale. These include bonuses and pay consideration for seniority.

An employment cost index establishes that U.S. military pay scale called the Allowable Rate. The index is determined by studying the amount of enlisted members in permanent and permanent personnel as well as temporary military retirees per 100 active-duty military personnel. After considering these parameters The rate is then adjusted to give a percentage that will be based on the needs for each group to ensure that there is a sufficient number of workers. For example, the lower-ranking individual’s  in the Marine Corps will be considered Officers in Reserve or Officers Regular. While those with higher rank are classified as Specialists or Officers Special. In addition, those employed in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits, and those who are in the Navy will be considered Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next rung on the pay scale for military personnel is the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost rank is the ” Colonel”. When you attain the rank of Colonel, it means that you become a General and have the responsibility for the entire military and whole staff. At this rank you’ll also receive the most amounts of money per day. If you are promoted to higher levels, you will be able to enjoy the most number of paid days of holidays per year.

Pay increments at this level are dependent on the military’s cost index for employment. This allows you to account for the rising of the cost of living. If a location has a high index, the cost of living is expected to be more expensive than when the index is less. This leads to an increase in the salaries of military personnel who have high educational qualifications and experienced similar promotions and pay raises similar to those of lower pay levels. Personnel who are promoted to lower pay grades receive no increment.

Officers who have both commissioned and enlisted rank receive promotions to Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid at this rank is based on the actual rating of their commission which is usually higher than the level of their actual star. At higher levels of command including Colonel, both commissioned and enlisted officers can be eligible for a promotion to a Colonel. When they are upgraded to Colonel, all officers commissioned will qualify for general promotion. This means that those who’ve had a previous promotion to General are qualified to be promoted to a Vice Captain or Major.

The pay increases for Specialties increase every two years. You must be among the top 20 percent of your enlistment class in order to earn an specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician, Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist, as well as Information Technology Specialist. Anyone with one of these specialty pay grades are eligible to apply for the position of surgical technician, or Medical Assistant once they have reached the required number or years in service, and have reached the minimum level for promotion.
