A cost of employment index is what is known as the U.S. military pay scale known as the Allowable Rate. The index is calculated through examining the need for enlisted personnel as well as permanent and temporary military retirees for 100 active duty personnel. After considering these parameters, the rate is adjusted to give a percentage that is based on the requirements for strength for each group for a stable workforce. This method is used in order to determine a basic military salary that is later applied in every branch.

The U.S army has its ranking system in place. The ranks are decided through the first lieutenant, and beyond and comprise officers such as sergeants, lieutenants (colonels), lieutenants and majors. Within the army, three levels are ranked from highest to lowest within the command chain. They are known as the “major”, “first lieutenant,” and “second lieutenant”.

The second pay scale used in the army is First Major First Lieutenant, First Lieutenant, and the list goes on. This ranks the people working in different sectors of service in various wings that comprise the Army. For example, individuals with lower rank in military units like the Marine Corps will be considered Officers Placed In Reserve or Officers Regular. The higher-ranked ones will be classified as Officers Special or Specialists. Also, those in the Air Force will be considered Officers Air Recruits. Likewise, those in the Navy are classified as Officers Navy or Officers Waterman.

The next step up the pay scale of the military is called the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost scale is the ” Colonel”. At Colonel rank, you will be considered a General and will have responsibility for all military personnel and the entire staff. In this position you’ll also receive the highest amount of pay per day. In higher ranks, you can expect to receive a number of days of paid leave per month.

Pay increase at this level are dependent on the cost of labor index. This allows you to keep track of the rate of inflation of living costs. When an area has a high index, the cost of living is predicted to be higher than when the of living index is very low. This is a reason for an increase the salaries of military personnel who have high educational qualifications and were promoted and received pay increases that are comparable to those in lower pay levels. For those who have promotions in jobs that are not in their pay grade receive no increment.

Officers who have both in the enlisted and commissioned ranks receive an advancement to a Warrant Officer. The amount they are paid with this title is based on the actual rating of their commission that is generally higher than that of their real star. When they reach higher levels of the command like Colonel both commissioned, and enlisted officers will be entitled to advancement to the rank of Colonel. After an upgrade to Colonel, all officers commissioned can apply for general promotions. Therefore, those who have already been elevated to General are qualified for promotion to a Vice Captain or Major.

The pay increases for Specialties rise in every couple of years. It is necessary to be in the top 20 percent of your class to be promoted to an advanced pay grade. The pay grades are Technician, Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist, and Information Technology Specialist. Individuals who hold any of these specialties pay grades may apply to become a surgical technician, or Medical Assistant after they’ve had the number that have served in the past and have reached the minimum level for promotion.
