The next level in the pay scale of the military is called the ” Sergeant Major”. The topmost level is called“Colonel” ” Colonel”. As a Colonel, become a General and will be accountable for your entire army and entire staff. At this level, you will also receive the most pay per day. Higher levels will be able to enjoy the most number of days of paid time off per calendar month.
Pay increase at this level are calculated based on the army cost of employment. This is a method to accommodate for the increase of the cost of living. When a region has an index of high value, the costs of living are expected to be greater than when the cost of living index is very low. This results in an increase in the compensation of military members who have high educational qualifications and enjoyed similar promotions as well as pay rises as those who are in lower paygrades. People who are promoted to the lower ranks of their pay receive no increment.
Officers who are in the enlisted and commissioned ranks receive an increase to the rank of Warrant Officer. The salary they earn at this rank is determined by the commission they receive and is typically above the grade of their current star. Higher levels of command including Colonel, both enlisted and commissioned officers can receive a promotion to a Colonel. After a promotion to Colonel, all commissioned officers are eligible for general promotion. Finally, the increases in pay for Specialties go up twice a year. You have to be in the top twenty percent of your enlistment class to qualify for the Specialized pay grade. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. Anyone with one of these pay grade specializations can apply to become a surgical technician or Medical Assistant, after they have reached the required number or years in service, and completed the required level of promotion.
