At higher levels, you will also receive the most number of days of paid time off per calendar month.
Pay increments at this level are determined by the military index of cost of employment. This is a way to adjust for the inflation of living costs. When an area has high cost index, the cost of living is predicted to be much higher than when the cost index falls. This results in an increase in the pay for military members who have a high education and had similar promotions and increases similar to those at lower pay levels. People who are promoted to lower pay grades have no pay increase.
Officers who are an enlisted and commissioned rank get the opportunity to be promoted to Warrant Officer. The salary they earn for this position is determined by the commission they receive that is typically higher than the actual star. Higher ranks of command, such as Colonel, both commissioned and enlisted officers will be eligible for an upgrade to Colonel. Finally, the increases in pay for Specialties go up every two years. It is necessary to be in the top twenty percent of your enlistment class to gain promotion to the pay grade of Specialized. The pay grades are Technician Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. The people who have any of these pay grades may apply to become a surgical technician or Medical Assistant, once they’ve completed the required number of years of service and reached the appropriate promotion level.
