Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps are the branches that employ the pay scales used by the military. Each branch has specific requirements that determine their pay grade. In the Colonel rank, you will be promoted to General and will oversee the entire military and whole staff. At this level you’ll also earn the most money per day. If you are promoted to higher levels, you can expect to receive an increased number of paid days of time off per calendar month.
Pay increases at this level are based on the military index of cost of employment. This is a way to reflect the increasing of the cost of living. When an area has an index that is high, then the cost of living is predicted to be much higher than when the cost index falls. This leads to an increase in the compensation of military members who have high educational qualifications and were promoted and received pay increases that are comparable to those in lower pay grades. For those who have promotions in lower pay grades have no pay increase.
Officers that are both employed and enlisted are given promotions to Warrant Officer. The salary they earn at this rank is based on their actual commission rating and is typically above the level of their actual star. Higher levels of command such as Colonel both commissioned, and enlisted officers will be eligible for an upgrade to Colonel. When they are upgraded to Colonel, all commissioned officers can be promoted to general. For example, those who’ve previously been promoted to a General will be eligible for promotions to a Vice Captain or a Major.
The pay increases for Specialties go up every two years. You need to be among the top 20 percent of your enlistment class to be promoted to the pay grade of Specialized. These pay grades include Technician, Radio Technician Computer Networking Specialist as well as Information Technology Specialist. The people who have any of these specialty pay grades can apply to become surgeon technician or Medical Assistant once they’ve completed the necessary number of years of service and attained the necessary promotion level.
