Officers who are both an enlisted and commissioned rank get a promotion to a Warrant Officer. In higher ranks of command like Colonel both commissioned, and enlisted officers are eligible for being promoted to Colonel. Also, the increments in pay for Specialties increases every two years. You must be among the top 20 percent of your class in order to earn the pay grade of Specialized. The pay grades are Technician, Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. If you have one of these pay grade specializations can apply to become surgical technician, or Medical Assistant once they’ve reached the minimum number or years in service, and achieved the level of promotion required.
