At higher levels, you will also receive an increased number of days of paid holiday per month.
Pay increments at this level are based on the military cost index for employment. This is an attempt to accommodate for the increase of living costs. In areas with a high index, the cost of living is predicted to be more expensive than when the cost Index is not high. This can result in an increase in the compensation of military members who have high educational qualifications and were promoted and received pay raises similar to those of lower pay levels. For those who have promotions in areas below their paygrade are not given a raise.
Officers with commissioning and enlisted receive an upgrade to Warrant Officer. The salary they earn in this grade is based on their commission rating and is typically above the grade of their real star. At higher levels of leadership like Colonel, both commissioned, and enlisted officers are eligible for a promotion to a Colonel. When they are upgraded to Colonel, all officers who are commissioned will be eligible for general promotion. So, officers who have prior to that been upgraded to a General are qualified to be promoted to a Vice Captain or a Major.
Additionally, the salary increases for Specialties go up twice a year. You need to be in the top 20 percent of your enlistment class in order to earn the pay grade of Specialized. The pay grades are Technician, Radio Technician, Computer Networking Specialist as well as Information Technology Specialist. If you have one of these pay grade specializations can apply to become surgical technician, or Medical Assistant after they’ve completed the necessary number or years in service, and have attained the necessary promotion level.
