If you are promoted to higher levels, you will receive the most number of paid days of holidays per year.
Pay increases at this level are dependent on the employment cost index. This is a method to accommodate for the increase of living expenses. When an area has an index of high value, the cost of living will be expected to be greater than when the cost index falls. This is a reason for an increase the compensation of military members who are educated and have had similar promotions and rises as those who are in lower pay grades. Personnel who are promoted to areas below their paygrade get no raise.
Officers with engaged and commissioned receive promotions to Warrant Officer. The salary they earn in this grade is based on the actual rating of their commission, which is usually above the level of their actual star. At higher levels of leadership, such as Colonel, both commissioned and enlisted officers can be eligible for being promoted to Colonel. Following an upgrade to Colonel, all commissioned officers will qualify for general promotion. Therefore, those who have prior to that been upgraded to a General are qualified to be promoted to Vice Captain or Major.
Lastly, the pay increases for Specialties will increase approximately every two years. You have to be in the top twenty percent of your class to qualify for a Specialized pay grade.
